Jonathan Sky (Sywulka) is a musician and magician based in Los Angeles. At age 5 he learned his first magic trick at a friend's birthday party and by age 17, he was performing magic professionally for restaurants, country clubs, and for private functions throughout Southern California. In high school, he founded a school magic club and enjoyed producing yearly magic shows in the school cafeteria. After five failed auditions, at age 19 he was granted membership into the prestigious "Junior’s Program" at the Magic Castle, Hollywood. There he had the opportunity to study under world-renowned magicians and was twice featured in the Magic Castle's "Future Stars of Magic” showcase.
In 2016, Jonathan was awarded "Gold Medal Champion in Stage Magic" by the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians. His unique brand of magic has been seen at Downtown Disney and on cruise ships around the world. Jonathan has produced shows at The Tucson Fringe, The Hollywood Fringe, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, and most recently at the Historic Fullerton Ballroom.
In 2018, Jonathan produced Rhapsody of Wonders, a musical magic show backed by a live band. With elements of New Orleans jazz, Old Hollywood glamour, and film-noir mystery, the show sets original illusions to classics of the American songbook such as La Vie En Rose, Pennies from Heaven, Mona Lisa, One Note Samba, and The Shadow of Your Smile.
In 2019, Jonathan produced "Up Close & Magical", a weekly close-up magic show in Downtown Fullerton. With only 12 seats per show, guests enjoy a personalized evening of close-up magic alongside a menu of delicious appetizers and beverages. While having a career in magic, Jonathan is also a freelance musician, performing regularly for theme parks, theaters, and symphonies throughout Southern California, Shortly after graduating with a music degree from Biola University, Jonathan played lead trumpet for Princess Cruises, visiting over 30 countries in 4 years. He currently performs for Disneyland Parks and manages the Jonathan Sky Band, which provides live music for private events throughout Southern California.
As an educator, Jonathan directed the band program for Grace Christian School, Cypress and partnered with the Whittier Regional Symphony to deliver music enrichment assemblies to over 40 elementary schools yearly. And with a passion for entrepreneurship, Jonathan partnered with Venture Lab to teach entrepreneurship courses designed for young students.
